What a view!

Why eat at just any restaurant when you could eat somewhere with a stunning scene in front of you? Restaurants and bars with fabulous views are the subject of two recent articles from cnn.com and The Guardian.  I was pleased (and not surprised) to see that Restaurant 360in Istanbul, where I’ve dined twice, made The Guardian’s list – not only is the food tasty and scene trendy, but seing Istanbul lit up at night from all angles is quite a treat.

Great view and great meals include, but are not limited to, places with long walks to the top. Here are some of my personal favorites:

  • Top of the Hub in Boston, MA: While the food often receives mixed reviews, the cocktails are good and trying to see if I can find my roofdeck among all the other brownstones below is a fun game to play.
  • Skates on the Bay in Berkeley, CA: Yummy seafood right on San Francisco Bay.
  • Feredini, Oia, Santorini: Incredible homemade pasta, a professional sommelier pouring fine wine, and the sunset over the caldera. It really doesn’t get much better than this.
  • Spoon Cafe & Lounge in Budapest, Hungary: This trendy docked boat on the Danube River has an awesome view of the Chain Bridge and castle.
  • Manta Ray in Tel Aviv, Israel: Wonderful selection of tapas, right on a Mediterranean beach.
