It’s a rainy day here in the Boston area, and it would be nice to be at home curled up with a good book. Alas, most of us don’t have that luxury. But if we did, wouldn’t it be nice to grab a book from this sunny, unique library loft? I think the room resembles the hull of a boat, and I also like the unique staircase and lofted room. My parents’ house, designed by my dad and hand-built by him and my mom (with some help from friends), has a lofted second story and three sets of spiral staircases. So naturally I’ve got a soft spot for interiors that feature one or both of these elements.

The little pops of lavender are so welcoming on a rainy day, too, and have me looking forward to the first spring flowers.
Oh I so want a little nook like that. It’s a must have in my next house!!!!
