Be warned: I think this is going to be Nursery Week on the blog. The room is finally done (well, pretty much), and I’ve officially reached my wit’s end in this 39th week of pregnancy and can think of little else than moving the nursery’s future occupant out of his current abode.
A while back I posted about some adorable art for children that I found on Etsy by tmlCREATIONS. The cute animal prints that I found represent all seven continents, plus an eighth print to round out the series – a whale who swims to all the continents!
While at Michael’s looking for supplies unrelated to this decor project, I hit the framing jackpot – matted frames for $5 each! One problem: they weren’t white:
Good thing I already had a can of semi-gloss white spray paint hanging around the garage. After a few coats of primer and paint, the frames were ready to go.
I just love the elephant in particular – he’s so cute! Tracy is such a talented artist, and it feels good to buy from a fellow New Englander. The quality of the paper she uses is fantastic; the colors are so vibrant that you can’t even tell that they’re prints and not the original watercolors.
On top of the dresser is the changing pad holder that my dad made:
We stained it a super-dark brown (Minwax’s Jacobean) and it’s securely fastened to the back of the dresser with metal brackets so our wiggly boy will be safely contained.
Check out Tracy’s shop for gorgeous prints that aren’t just for kids!

The prints are so cute! They look perfect above the dresser.
You did a wonderful job decorating the nursery! Love the color scheme! Tracy
Love the animals — super cute!
I love the simplicity of the prints.
I absolutely love that. What a fabulous and personal idea!
