Summer Essentials from Domestic Adventure

Erin from Domestic Adventure is here today to share her summer essentials, which include a delicious pie and fun nail polish. She’s adding one more blog baby to the bunch, since she’s expecting a boy this winter. Congratulations, Erin!!

I’m thrilled to be here among the fabulous bloggers who have been helping Laura keep JourneyChic hopping as she settles in to life with her adorable little Junior.  My summer essentials are kind of all over the map, from fashion to food and beyond, but they all have a common theme.  All of these items always signal to me that summer is indeed here.

First up is OPI nail polish.  Nothing says summer to me like a fresh pedicure.  I love pedicures because I can use colors that I’m rarely willing to use on my hands, like a bright red or a pop of raspberry pink.  I’m always amazed at how well the OPI nail polish holds up.  It seriously keeps my toes looking good for weeks.

My next summer essential is a pair of crisp white pants.  I get a little weepy when Labor Day comes and I have to stow these away for the long winter months.  For me, the perfect evening out includes a pair of white pants with some strappy metallic sandals.

When it comes to my kitchen, there are a few foods that just scream summer.  First up are the fresh blackberries and wild Maine blueberries that we find all around our yard.

There is nothing better than a pie with the berries that we picked!

Of course summer in Maine also means some fresh lobster.  While I actually don’t indulge in the stuff, we love serving it up when we have guests.

And in these parts where I live, nothing says summer like a hike or stroll out in the beautiful Acadia National Park.  There is nothing like the vistas of the ocean, granite and tall green pines.  The perfect ending to any summer work day is a walk or jog around one of the many carriage road trails.

And those, my friends, are some of the essentials that make my summer.  Enjoy the rest of yours!

I just put that JOnathan Adler lamp in a clients master bath. It’s beautiful.

  3. Looks like the recipe for a perfect summer. I’m sure if I put on a pair of white pants, that pie would end up in my lap. I just don’t have the guts to wear white pants, but they always look so great during the summer.
