Chic Inspiration: A Day on Santorini

Where would I rather be right now? Lounging by the pool looking out at the caldera while sipping a cocktail. Yep, I’m talking about Santorini, where the hubs and I spent a few days during our honeymoon three years ago. Yesterday was our anniversary, so this beautiful destination is on my mind and therefore our honeymoon photos are inspiring THREE outfits this week.

Wondering what to wear for a stylish, sunny day on Santorini (or any fun beach destination, really)? I’ve got you covered.

The first inspirational photo is the bright white cliff-side pool at the Katikies Hotel in the village of Oia. If you’ve seen the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movies, you’ve seen beautiful Oia.

The pool is small, but the view is huge. All those shades of deep, dark blue, white and turquoise make for a chic poolside outfit featuring a little bit of geometry that the ancient Greeks are known for. I love how the swirls of the gold sandals mimic the embroidered swirls in the tunic.

After spending the morning lounging in the hot sun, it’s time to go shopping in the larger city of Fira, filled with more winding streets and tiny shops.

Swap out the tunic for a gauze skirt and cute tank and make a quick accessory change. Keep the bag – it’s plenty big enough to stash all the souvenirs you’ll buy.

After getting a nice tan in the morning followed by a tiring walk, you’ll be ready for an amazing meal while you watch Oia’s famous sunset.

A view this amazing is worthy of a dress that’s a bit of a splurge. I adore this one-shouldered gown from Banana Republic’s BR Monogram collection. It combines my favorite colors in a sea of silky goodness! Add your gold sandals and gold bird earrings from earlier in the day, grab a gold clutch and you’re ready for a sunset meal.

I don’t know about you, but I am just dying to get away from it all! I’ll take a day on Santorini over pretty much any day anywhere else!

I found this post through the Centsational Girl link party. This is a great idea for a post for travel and fashion! I love Santorini and had only a short visit while on a Greek cruise. I hope to return someday and stay for a few days. I love the outfits, too. Perfect for an island vacation.
