Alright everyone, here it is! A whole family of virtual outfits to help you decide what to wear for your family portrait! Yesterday we learned tips for achieving a timeless family photo, and now we’ll get into the fashion details. As inspiration, I chose a photo card from Tiny Prints that incorporates popular Christmas colors with a modern twist.
Scrolling through all the possible holiday cards is the perfect way to start your quest for coordinating (not matching!) outfits for you and your family. As you can see in the card above, the red car and blue shoes echo the card’s font colors.
The building block for this ensemble is the cute baby girl dress, on sale at Gap. I went from there, building up the boy’s look, then Dad, then Mom. It’s helpful to start with an item that incorporates most of the colors of your card. This dress actually has subtle purple dots, and although that strays from the color scheme it’s close enough and helps to avoid the matchy-matchy look.

Well I won’t be sending out a christmas photo anytime soon (maybe when I have kids!) but I love the outfits! I love how you built everything around the adorable little girl’s dress!
That necklace is such a lovely addition to the look! Super cute picks! I have to seriously think about Christmas photos already!
I am so excited that you announced the styling services! Yay!
We did a brown and red theme for our family photos last year!! http://www.bonbonrosegirls.com/2010/12/our-2010-pro-family-photos.html
Yes – I remember that post! It’s a great example of mixing patterns.
SO important to not be all matchy matchy. And yay for your styling services!
