It’s always a happy day when the IKEA catalog arrives, isn’t it? Packed with loads of fabulously inexpensive stuff, the catalog can be as overwhelming as the store. So, I’ve narrowed it down a bit for you to my top five picks and how you can use them!
Oh how I love this chair! It’s so curvy and sleek with its glossy black paint. It would be an unexpected addition the living room, but when I have a covered porch someday that’s where two Storseles will find a home with a cute little ceramic garden stool (topped with a glass of sangria, naturally) in between them.
This yellow geometric pattern is similar to what you’ll find at West Elm, but for a fraction of the price. It would work well in a dining room; I always think that flat weaves or low pile rugs work best in that space so chair legs can glide more smoothly.
3. Almsta Chair
These chairs look comfy and come in the natural rattan color as well as black. Pair them with a pedestal table in a kitchen nook (I have a space like this in mind).
Do you think of old toile printed china when you think of blue and white dishes? I sure do, but this set has a pretty, modern print. Use them for your lunch, or hang them in a cluster on your wall.
This isn’t a new lamp, but I love it! It’s classic and you could spray paint it for a whole new look (gold, black, brass…red?).
If you’ve read my About page you know that when I was little, I used to make furniture for my doll house. I think I did a pretty good job (for a 6 year-old) but it certainly didn’t look as cool as this! My old doll house is in my parents’ basement just waiting for Lil C to be old enough to enjoy it, and I so want to buy this furniture for her. It would be a welcome change from the house’s old velvet Victorian living room set!
What are your favorites from the latest catalog? What are your favorite IKEA products? Mine are the spice racks that I turned into book racks for my girl’s nursery.
My in-laws are visiting from out of town for the next few days, so I will “see” you next week! Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! I can’t believe it’s nearly September!
