Rock & Roll Nursery In Action

On St. Patrick's Day I became an aunt! My sister-in-law and her hubby welcomed an adorable little boy, and now I'm pleased to share a few photos of the rock-n-roll nursery that I helped to design. If you remember, I put together an inspiration board based on my relatives' love for music and going to concerts. They both liked the theme so much that they bought serveral of the products I recommended and put their own twist on them. The Full Circle crib bedding from Land of Nod gives a nod to … [Read more...]

Great Escape: Floral Maxi Dress

floral maxi dress outfit

It's a beautiful, almost summer-like week here in Boston. I can't believe it's only mid-March! Although it's not quite socially acceptable to wear a floral maxi dress in March in the northeast (since a normal temp is in the 40's or 50's), I spotted this bold number and it would be perfect for the child-free beach vacation that Mr. JC and I have planned for later this spring. Yes, the dress is pricey (is anything from Anthro not pricey?) but the sensible cost of the shoes and accessories make … [Read more...]

Back in January when I wrote about my blogging resolutions, I foolishly thought I'd get around to doing one real outfit post each month. Hah! My track record hasn't been very good so far, has it? Today I'm throwing one at you though - even if the photo and Polyvore outfit is over a month old. Excuse the grainy photo and terrible hotel room lighting - I have yet to upgrade to the new iPhone. I sported this outfit for a work party when I was on a "business trip" three miles from my house. I … [Read more...]

Still Standing…

Hello blogging friends, Just a little note to say that I'm still here, but a very busy work schedule coupled with a series of nasty colds has left me totally pooped at the end of the day and momentarily zapped me of my blogging mojo. Added to that, I had a blogging disaster this weekend that caused my whole site to be covered with PhotoBucket icons. Word to the wise: never, ever let a designer host your blog's images on a third party site. Thankfully I'd saved a few of my images, and by a … [Read more...]

Outfit Inspiration: Watery Blues

Does anyone else feel like February is sort of a blah, blue month? Perhaps I'm just in a funk, having spent the better part of the month battling one cold after the next. This painting, by Eduard Tomek circa 1971 captures February for me - tumultuous and moody. Yet for all its darkness, the colors inspired a fun outfit.   Source: artandopinion.tumblr.com via Laura@JourneyChic on Pinterest       Water Color Blues by journeychic featuring python … [Read more...]

Valentine’s Day Eye Candy

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! A nasty cold has sidelined me for the past few days, so this V-Day isn't going to be terribly exciting. Last night my hubby brought me roses and made a yummy steak tip dinner since he'll playing softball tonight while I curl up on the couch with a big ole box of tissues. For your viewing pleasure, here are some hot men and hot bedrooms. Consider it some Valentine's Day eye candy especially for you!   Source: Uploaded by user via … [Read more...]
